Message
from the Staff
Welcome
to the home of Beverly Underground, a newspaper run for and
by the students of Beverly Hills High School. Our goal is to provide
students with credible and verified reports regarding the issues
that concern them. We, unlike our school sponsored paper Highlights,
plan to print stories that are not censored by our administration.
Our articles will instead focus on the stories the school tries to
keep at bay.
Note:
we have changed the format of the site. We feel we will be able to
provide you with the maximum amount of quality stories if we publish
once a month. This is the October issue. We will publish each issue
the first Sunday of each month during the school year. The next
issue will be published November 2nd. You can
check the left column to see the date that a particular article was
posted or changed on. We welcome any submissions by students who wish to have
their articles published. If you have any questions, suggestions, or
wish to have your work published, please contact the publisher at
publisher@beverlyunderground.org. Please
have all stories in by the end of each month to appear in the next
issue.

Mission
Statement
Beverly
Underground is an independent student newspaper at Beverly Hills
High School published to uphold the First Amendment. It is our right
to voice our concerns and our mission is just that. Beverly
Underground Newspaper is here to serve the students and provide an
uncensored forum for students to make their ideas heard. We strive to
provide both accurate and balanced stories that may be perceived as
either positive or negative. We will publish the stories that
concern the students. We do not censor our articles. We report the
truth. Beverly Underground Newspaper's quest is to publish stories,
editorials, cartoons, photos, commentary, criticisms, and other
material throughout the school year. Much of the material we print
will be controversial and non-mainstream, but that's why we are
here. Any student with an opinion can send us an article and be
heard. The power of the written word is great and it is our mission
to convey the words of the students.

How
to Use this Site
You can use the menu bars (top and left) to
navigate between the various parts of Beverly Underground. These
parts include: schools news stories, editorials, staff columns,
cartoons, student submitted creative writing, chat room, forums for
discussion, polls, and archives of past articles. Many of the
articles featured in the editorials and "top news stories"
come from non-BeverlyUnderground staff members. Please feel free to
write articles and submit them to us for possible publication. You
can use the forum to make immediate posts of any nature. Membership
is free and easy and will enable you to post in the message boards
and talk in the chat room. You can use the search feature to search
both the message boards and the articles (past and current). To the
left, you can vote on one of the weekly polls. The current results
automatically show up after you have voted.

BeverlyUnderground.com
Finally Opens!
BeverlyUnderground.com has finally opened.
After much thought, web programming and talk, the first
underground newspaper for Beverly Hills High School of its kind has
been released. Other sites have attempted to create underground
sites about BHHS but failed due to organizational problems, a lack
of interesting content, and malicious motives. If we continue to receive
the support we have revived thus far, we will be an interesting,
informative, fun, and credible site for much time to come.
