Who Says You Have to be 17 to See a Rated R Movie?

Have you ever really wanted to go with some friends to a rated R movie but either the person selling the tickets or the attendant taking the tickets asked you for ID? And what do you know, if you're under age 17, no movie for you. Well this just doesn't need to be the case. A $100 fake ID is not a necessity either. This is how you make your own fake high school ID. I've used this card for years now, and it always works.

First download the template. I made this in Adobe Photoshop, but if you don't have Photoshop, you can still make this card, it's just a little bit harder.

Here is the Photoshop template (right mouse click and hit "save target as" to save to hard drive)

Here is the (if you don't have Photoshop) jpeg template (right mouse click and hit "save target as" to save to hard drive)

To work with these files you will need to know a little bit about Adobe Photoshop or whatever photo editor you wish to use if you don't have Photoshop and you download the jpeg. If you can't use your photo editing program, search for a tutorial or read the help file.

First you are going to want to get a good picture. A headshot in front of a blue backdrop works best and looks the most professional. You can get such a picture by scanning in a driver's license photo, school ID, passport, or if you want, you can use a digital camera and take the photo yourself. Load the picture into the computer and then paste it into the template. You will then need to resize your picture to fit in the space provided for the picture. Be sure to leave the border around it for a clean and professional look.

Now it is time to decide on your name. That's up to you. If you want to use your real name, fine. I personally like to put a fake name on the card just to be safe though. Type that in where it says to. In the Photoshop template you can just click on the text with the text tool to bring up the window to modify the text. For the jpeg, you can manually erase the "name here" and type in your name. To keep the font uniform, use "Bookman Old Style" font.

If you want, you can change grade, birth date, and student ID number, but it isn't critical... unless of course a lot of people start using this template, then it might be wise to change the specifics. Once you are done, print it out on good paper (the glossy kind works great) and go to staples or some other office supply store to get a pack of self-laminating ID protectors (they basically just use adhesive to seal). Cut your printed ID so it looks good and then put it in the laminating sheet. Seal it and then cut the edges so it looks like a handy little ID card. Be sure not to cut the laminate too close to the print paper because the lamination will not stick if you do.

Congratulations, you now have your own fake ID. Now don't try to get alcohol with this card, because its pretty hard to make a vendor believe a 21 year old has a high school ID for identification. You never have to worry again, however, about not getting into a rated R movie... I'm sure there are other reasons you may want a fake ID. Have fun.

After being confronted with one staff member's statement that Dr. Stepenosky had coerced Ms. Rabin into retirement, he was asked why the teacher would lie about it. He responded:

"It's not that she's lying, she just might not have accurate information"
