Introduction
You
are about to read philosophy. My philosophy. Now this will not be a
conventional philosophy reading. In fact, quite the contrary. This
is simply an introduction to the daily thoughts of Orange Mist, me.
I don’t hold these thoughts to be all inclusive nor do I think
they are necessarily right. These are my thoughts on life, society,
and the way we think. Often I will see something, or something will
happen to me, or I will think of something, or I will meet someone
who inspires these thoughts. What you are about to read is meant to
provoke thoughts. It is up to you to build upon them. Perhaps they
have some truth, perhaps they are simply the ramblings of someone
who just wants to write what he thinks. I think it should be obvious
to the reader so far that I do not hold myself to be right. I
understand I am ignorant in many matters. Perhaps, in reality there are no all-inclusive
philosophies. Perhaps there is no such thing as universal laws.
Maybe life is just mystical and completely random. Nevertheless, it
is obvious that patterns do appear to exist in this universe.
Therefore, I will try to explore such patterns as based on today’s
society because everything I think and feel is based, in one way or
another on what society has showed me. I will attempt to
rise above society, to philosophize without any prohibitions.

Life,
What An Accident
What
an accident. Life. Here we are. Just a few billion years back (not
that long ago when one considers the lifespan of the universe)
"life" as we think of it was so far and distant. It wasn't
planned - written in the fabric of the universe, rather, a bunch of
juices mixed together to create life on earth... and quite possibly
elsewhere in the universe. In matters of importance - we are no
greater than the non-living matter of the universe, instead, we are
simply alternate manifestations of the elements that make up the
universe. It is so incredible: the stark contrast between life and
the non-living. But what amazes me the most is that all life is, is
the right mixture of non-living elements. Yes, life is made up of
the non-living. This "life" allows humans to make things,
go places, communicate, and be dynamic. Life is nothing more than
millions of chemical reactions occurring simultaneously. It truly is
remarkable how a number of reactions between non-living elements can
produce an entity that is actually able to contemplate and begin to
understand the universe around him. So what are we to make of this?
Belittlement. In the grand scale of things, we are no more
significant than some rock 100 million light-years away from the
earth. After all, we are just a bunch of elements reacting simultaneously.
We are nothing. Life is meaningless. A reaction will continue until
its reactants are exhausted just as "life" as we know it
will come and then cease to exist. The universe will go on. The
power of oneself comes from within oneself and that is where it
should be cherished. On a universal scale we are nothing, but in our
own little isolated world comprised of human interactions, we humans
are everything. There is nothing wrong with that - our ego should
not die, it should just be taught a lesson.
