When we last left our hero…
Tarka, an Inuit hunter, is on a journey to rescue a certain polar bear from the Los Angeles zoo. He is accompanied by his arranged wife, Madame Walrus, and a giant whale that only speaks Spanish. On his journeys he encountered the den of the three Mermaid Sisters: Paradise, Dusty, and Marie-Antoinette. After resisting their seduction, he was given the legendary spear, Gungnir, as a parting gift. Now his journey continues as planned, but something seems awfully fishy about those Mermaids…

The three Mermaids were getting bored. He was supposed to arrive hours ago. They understood that he was traveling from afar, yet it was unlike him to be this late.
“Paradise, Marie, do you think we really changed the outcome? They are very powerful, and will surely kill us if they find out what we have done.” said Dusty.

“Do not fret, Dusty. We are the Norns: the weavers of fate, even they fear us.” replied Paradise.
Marie-Antoinette was cleaning out her toes.
“Yes, but they are very dangerous foes nonetheless.”
“As long as we are under his protection, we will not undergo any harm.” reassured Paradise.
A shadowy figure stepped into the chamber, along with the mysterious, dark, glow that accompanied it.
“Speak of the devil.”
“Hello ladies, I hope the mission was a success, for your sakes.”
“Oh yes, Great Loki, we gave the Inuit the spear, just as you requested.” Dusty assured him.
“By removing Gungnir from the hands of the All-Father, we have altered the very fabric of fate itself. His prophecy is now rendered worthless.”
“Oh, yes.”, they chirped.
Loki went to take his leave. As a parting word, he warned, “You may wish to migrate to warmer waters. The Fimbul-winter is fast-approaching.”
“Already!? That only means--”
“Yes… Ragnarok.”

“This is Sara Williams reporting for ABC News. I am live at LA Zoo, where the new polar bear, Coco, has been kidnapped late last night. The bear-nappers have left behind a calling card, a red square with the symbol of the former Soviet Union, the hammer and the sickle. I just received word that this matches the recent museum thieveries in Reyjavík, Iceland and Moscow, Russia. For anyone who has any information on these recent events, please call…”
